Healthy Journey Day 259

Weigh in 195.6 today.   It's been weeks since I weighed in.

I made donuts today, a recipe from Six sisters stuff.   Pretty tasty.   I don't usually fry foods, so it was an experience.   Really easy though.   You use the puff pastry sheets that are found in the freezer section of the grocery store.   Taste a lot like Krispie Creams.

I ate quite a few of the donuts, and so wasn't hungry for other foods.

After church they had treats today, chips and salsa.   I then made tuna noodle for dinner.   I didn't drink that much water today, am really feeling it.   Hubby and I spent the bulk of the afternoon looking at birthday presents for my son.   It is less than a month away.

Plan for tomorrow:

Pumpkin Protein Waffles
green smoothie...in my food processor
wraps/leftovers
Chicken and pico/verde over rice

Healthy Journey Day 222

Be Your Best Self Today

Weigh in:  196.8

Gratitudes: Lazy holiday weekends.   It's fun to sleep in do something only if we want to, and just feel rested!

Intentions for the day:  more sleep (maybe?) plan for the week...exercise and food.

Morning Blood Sugar: 100

Healthy Journey Day 215

Sunday morning.  I took a leisurely time getting up and ready.   I did actually weigh myself this morning too.

Weight:  198

Blood Sugar 107

I was feeling good...Extra sleep sure helps.   I made gandolfo sandwiches for breakfast.  It's nice to have pre-cooked bacon in the fridge.  We didn't eat until 11...very late morning!

I walked home from church today.  IT was soooo hot, but it felt good!  Only 42000 steps for the whole day...but I didn't feel like I sat around doing nothing.

Dinner was ravioli and garlic rolls.  The ravioli was a new kind.  Bacon Carbonara.  So not good.  I'm throwing the rest out.   I snacked on skittles, and chocolate after...it was a letdown!

I youtubed ideas for using a planner yesterday and found some good ones.  Including using stickers and washi tape to make it your own.   I will show you what I have done.  I am using post it notes and stamps and stickers to increase my enjoyment. :)   I was going to purchase a bunch of stickers on Etsy but then realized I had these avery return address labels. So I made my own.  I already feel so much more motivated with this than I have in a long time so we will see how it works!

I also watched a Brendon Burchard video recently about 5x50.  Basically 5 things you can do to improve your productivity.  I am excited by it.   Getting more sleep was at the top of the list, then avoiding your email for the first 50 minutes of the day (stretch and plan instead).  I feel really motivated and excited right now!

Healthy Journey Day 180

Sunday again.   I have our bedroom window open, listening to the rain coming down.  Thunder and lightning.  It is quite the downpour tonight and wonderful!   I love a good rainstorm!   We lived in the boonies when I was young and could watch the storms/lighting come across the desert to us.   I love the smell of rain, the sound of rain and the combination with Thunder and Lightning is amazing!   What a great evening.

Blood sugar this morning was 101.   I was really surprised.  Usually when I eat pizza for dinner, like I did last night, it is usually higher the next morning.   I will not complain though.

Weigh in:   199.   No complaint there either.   I have been in a mode lately where I don't care about my weight anymore.   I feel as though I may be giving up....but I have just felt like I don't need to change anything.  Perhaps this is a mode of accepting myself.      I am also working on remembering to set myself up for success.   Boot Camp has a "Win tomorrow Checklist" which is helpful.  I keep forgetting to fill it out.   I entered it into my home routines app.   In an effort to remember better, I found an app called Good Habit Maker.   You enter in the "mantra" you want to remember as well as the times you want to be reminded (9a-9p, 3-5 times)   And then it randomly will chime with your reminder.   So for my "mantra"  I put:  Put First things first, set yourself up for success.   So far so good.

Setting myself up for success is something that came to me in the shower (I do my best thinking in the shower!).   I think it is key.   If I don't do the dishes one night, I don't want to make dinner the next day because it will take too much effort.   And it keeps going from there.   Rather a ripple effect of sorts.

We spent the morning preping the house and food for a family get together tonight.    We smoked some ribs on our Traeger.   YUM!   They turned out beautiful.  Maybe that is because my hubby tended them exclusively.  I tend to burn them some how.    I made potato salad with bacon...yum!   We had lots of good food!

Breakfast:  Scrambled Eggs and a chocolate muffin
Snack:  Fruit Snacks.
A little bacon
Dinner:   Ribs, chips, potato salad, strawberry fluff, bread.
Dessert:  Ice Cream.  We have discovered Tillamook Ice Cream.  It is soo tasty!  We had chocolate peanut butter, and mudslide, and vanilla.  With some chocolate and caramel sauce, cherries and whipped cream.

I ate more than my hunger tonight.  It was all so tasty!   I don't like feeling over full!
It was nice to visit and eat yummy food with family!

Healthy Journey Day 159

Weigh in:  199.4

Blood Sugar:  110   time to do something more...It must get lower!

It was fast sunday again.   We had a family get together at my parents house.  food was yummy.  Roast potatoes and gravy, salad, watermelon, jello salad.  pasta salad.   A few strawberries...cool whip and a small slice of shortcake.

I had a few mini chocolate chip muffins and half a chocolate protein milk as well.

After not eating all day and combining that with family functions my tendency is to overeat.   I was very proud of myself for eating to my hunger!

My blood sugar was 88 at 4:30 pm  I was glad to see that.

Now before bed I am still a little hungry.   But not horribly.   We shall see how that pans out.
Hoping for good numbers in the morning!

Healthy Journey Day 152

Weigh in 198.8

Blood Sugar 99

Breakfast:  mini wheats and milk

Lunch:  angel food cake, strawberries and whipped cream YUM!

Dinner.   Grilled cheese sandwiches, tomato soup.  The rest of the angel food cake

Snack:  m&m's, a Popsicle.  Milk.  Milk has really hit the spot for me today.   I made brownies and had a few crumbs.  It wasn't tasting as good anymore.

I have been reading the book:  The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up.  It has been very interesting.  Not only does she take you through de-cluttering, but she talks about why and how.   It has made me quite motivated to go through my house and start to organize and get rid of things.  I know I can use it.   The house can use it.  My hubby would be ecstatic.  Time for action.

Healthy Journey Day 131--Easter Sunday

Gratitudes:  Health,  Fun Easter gifts like stuffed animals and kinetic sand.  Kept the kids occupied most of the day.   The true reason of Easter.   That my Savior rose again.  He knows my sorrows, my pains, and can help me through them.   No matter how small or large He knows.

Intentions for the day

I am 34 inches thinner from my bust/waist and hips and a size 8's measurements of 36/28/38 on October 7, 2015.  I am following the trainers workout and food plans drink 64 oz of water a day and getting 8 hours of sleep every night.
I track this by completing my measurements every 4 weeks and weighing in weekly. My expectation is to see a decrease of approximately 5 inches per month.

Weigh in:  199.2, a little surprising, but expected since I seem to bounce all over! (I also ate a lot of pie this last week.

Day 42

Morning Blood Sugar: 96. I'm actually doing it.    My goal for the end of last year was to have morning sugars consistently under 100.   I have had more in the 90s than not. I'm feeling quite good about it!   Yay!!!

Exercise:  as today is Sunday.  I will rest and stretch. Rest days are nice. :)

Weigh in:  196.2. I must be doing something right.

In our church, the first Sunday of every month is considered "Fast Sunday"  No this isn't where the services are over quicker, but when you go without food for at least two meals.  That is why I only have one meal today.

Dinner:
Time: 4:30
Hunger Level*:2
Ate:Cheese ball and crackers, garlic cheese pizza.
Comments:  Amazingly I wasn't that hungry today.  Usually I am famished on days like today.  I am more thirsty than anything.

Veggies and dip---7:30 hunger at 3.

Water intake:  32+32

Week update:  I am feeling great about my progress this week.  I had a couple of moments where I over ate, but other than that my intake was good.  I've also lived up to my goals extremely well so far.   I still feel focused and on task and as though the year is mine for the taking!  :)

2015 Goals:
1.  Post a total of 365 days on the blog
2.  Run a 10 min mile
3.  Squat 95 lbs
4.  Complete morning and evening routines on a daily basis. (100 days straight!)
5.  Weekly meal planning
6.  Run a Half Marathon in October

Day 35. Sunday Weigh in

Sunday Morning again.  The last Sunday of 2014 in fact.  Crazy how the year has flown!

Morning Blood Sugar:  99

Exercise:  Rest Day

Breakfast:
Time:8 am
Hunger Level*: 2
Ate: Chia Seed Pudding and raspberries
Comments:  Chia Seeds are pretty good, although they have just a slight rancid flavor to me when in pudding.  Good fiber and fluid intake in the pudding.  :)

Snack:
Time:
Hunger Level*:
Ate:
Comments:

Lunch:
Time:  12:30
Hunger Level*:  2
Ate:  a few pieces of chocolate, ham and cheesy potatoes
Comments:  I found myself eating emotionally as hubby and I were talking about a emotion festering subject.  I tend to over eat when angry...that was definitely today.

Snack:
Time:  3 pm
Hunger Level*:  3
Ate:  chocolate and cheesy potatoes.  The last of them.
Comments:  tried taking a nap in between that really didn't work well.  Got up feeling very agitated and angry.  didn't help my food intake level.

Dinner:
Time: 7 pm
Hunger Level*: 3
Ate: rolls and pasta
Comments:  We had thought of doing steak but it was cold enough that we didn't think the grill would work so well.  It is very particular.

Synopsis:  Considering the holidays my weighin wasn't bad.  I have had a lot of mental stresses that cause me to emotionally eat...I have not handled it as well as I had hoped I could.

Water intake:  40 oz

1.  Post a total of 365 days on the blog
2.  Run a 10 min mile

Day 28, Sunday Before Christmas

I so wish I could sleep in today.   9 am church doesn't allow it though.  I have not done myself any favors by going to sleep late and back to bed in the morning all week.  This week I'll work on that.  It is raining hard outside.  Love the sound of rain.  With it almost Christmas I really wish it was snow however.  I love a white Christmas!

Morning Blood Sugar: 97. To say I'm surprised is an understatement.  Eating bread for dinner does not usually denote a lower sugar.   I'm taking it though!

Exercise:   Rest day. Funny to say since I've taken a few weeks off.  Still don't recommend the flu as a weight loss regimen!

Weigh in:   I thought I would include this on Sundays. I only weigh myself once a week.  A couple of years ago I was a scale junkie.  I would wish and hope and pray for a lower number before I stepped on the piece of metal every day and then the number would dictate my mood for the rest of the day.  I'd eat out of permission for having a good number.  I'd eat out of guilt for a "bad" number. To get out of this perpetual cycle and fear of the scale I stopped weighing myself cold turkey for almost a full year.  The advantage of this was that I had to rely on other factors to determine my day.  How I felt for instance.  Something that should dictate my mood much more than a number from a piece of metal.  I highly recommend ditching the scale if you find yourself being a slave to it.   Now I step up remind myself it is only a number and has no bearing on my worth.  No shame no guilt no judgement.  I take note of the number and move on.  Numbers used to rule my day.   No more.  Now it is a tool out if many in my arsenal to tell me my approximate coordinates for my journey.   One of many guideposts to guide me in the direction I desire to go.
So all that being said I weighed in at 195.4 this morning.  0.2 greater than last week.

Breakfast:
Time: 8:30
Hunger Level*: 3
Ate: a muffin
Comments: running around trying to get kids and self ready for church.  I ate it while getting dressed.   In actual fact I wanted eggs and muffin and a grapefruit.

Snack:
Time:  none.
Hunger Level*:
Ate:
Comments:

Lunch:
Time:  12:10
Hunger Level*: 2
Ate: a roll a couple cookies some cookie dough
Comments: hubby asked me to make cookies for his home teaching families. He was leaving at 2.  So I quickly made some m&ms cookies and macadamia but white chocolate ones. It's almost two and I'm sitting.  The dough is not all cooked but I have enough for the plates for the families.

Snack:
Time: 3 pm
Hunger Level*: 3
Ate: a couple of cookies.  Chips and con queso dip.
Comments: yum

Dinner:
Time:6:30
Hunger Level*:4
Ate: hotdogs
Comments: wasn't horribly hungry.  I probably ate a cookie or two too many earlier.  Have had enough salt that I am more thirsty than hungry anyway. Pretty sure I'm done eating for the night.  :)

Water intake:  didn't keep that great of track today.  But I'm estimating 32 oz. my goal is 64...

Synopsis:  this week has been one of continued recovery.  Planning menus exercise and water intake are on the top of my list for improvements this next week.

Thanks for reading!
