Day 37 of 100--Stop comparing

There is such a culture of Shame and Blame and comparison of bodies in our world.   We begin to judge others and compare body sizes.  All too often we condemn someone based on their size and forget that it is not size that matters.   The worth of a soul is not in the size of their jeans.   Everyone has their own life journey to travel and we should not compare.   Comparison is the thief of joy.   I don't remember who said that but it is so true!  IF all you do is compare how much money you have, fat you have, hair you have...you are just putting yourself down or saying you are better than someone.   Pride is not an attractive quality.   If you find yourself in the body comparison game.  Stop yourself by looking for a good quality in your body and compliment yourself.  Recognizing the comparison game is the first step.  You can work on it from there.   It takes time to change your thoughts, but I promise it is worth it!  Treat yourself with kindness.  Treat others with kindness.  Isn't that what we all want anyway?   Remember you are BEAUTIFUL!

Day 36 of 100--Believe

Its one of those trite sayings BELIEVE.  But really it is the truth.  You can do anything you believe that you can do.  Dr John Day in his blog talked of studies with the placebo effect.  They took two groups of people with parkinsons and injected salt water into their veins.   The first group was told it was a regular priced medication that would cure the symptoms.   The second group was told they were receiving a very expensive medication.   All the participants had relief of symptoms with the most marked relief among the group told they were receiving the expensive version.  Amazing.   Another study I had heard before about housekeepers in the hotel who were told that the work they did everyday was actual exercise and that they burned a significant amount of calories in the work they did.

Healthy Journey Day 73

Intentions for the day: Lower blood sugar tomorrow.  3 veggie servings.  Clean the living room.   I realized last night what is going on.   I don't deal well with uncertainty.  There is a lot of that right now.   We are making a large purchase for the company and the progress of that is out of my  control currently.  I am also talking with a trainer about working with them...lots to be unsure of.  On top of that I keep staying up late.  So goal tonight is to be in bed without electronics by 10:30....This will be much earlier than all week.

Morning Blood Sugar: 108---Law of attraction?  I knew it was going to be high today and I even expected it to be.   My actions last night led to it being high.  Frustrating.  Tomorrow I am going to work to have a lower number.

Day 35 of 100--treat yourself

When was the last time you treated yourself?   Sometimes we just need some pampering.   I know I do!!

Today I received something I have been waiting a long time for!  A stitch fix.  I have let my negative voice talk me out of ordering because the highest size they go to is a 14.   So when those size 14 jeans seemed to magically fit me the other day I decided to bite the bullet and order.  I'm so glad I did!  It felt like Christmas morning when the mailman dropped it on my doorstep.  I eagerly brought it in and opened it up.   Inside I had 5 separate items.   A brown scarf, a violet dress, a white shirt, a brown cardigan and a pair of jeans.   I started with the dress.  It was beautiful!  Fit and flare, I loved the look...now to try it on.   Sadly I couldn't zip it up.  I just about cried.  Next the shirt and pants.  Amazingly even though the dress didn't fit, the jeans did!   I loved the shirt and jeans, even the cardigan.  I wasn't so sure until I put it on.  Love it!  Each item came with a card that showed style ideas and I could tell my stylist took time to figure out what I would like.   I vacillated on whether to just keep everything...and drop the inches to fit in the dress.  But I decided to only keep what fit really well and I really liked so here is what I ended up with.

I think it is really cute!  The T-shirt was a cheap one from Target, shoes from target too actually.   I guess that shows what kind of shopper I am.  :)   The jeans were $78 which is a bit more than I usually spend.  I am the maybe if it is $15 on sale I will buy it kind of jeans buyer.  These just fit well and I loved them!  They feel like they were made for me.

Buying clothes you don't fit, with the plan to get into them is the equivalent of clothing abuse!   Those clothes will mock you and hate you...not to mention the money it took to buy them.  Clothe yourself for the now, not for the future.  You deserve to fit and feel good in your clothing.  Not be restricted and uncomfortable.  Feel good and look good now!!  :)

Remember, treat yourself, it doesn't have to be clothes.  It could be calling a friend, a nice bath.  Reading a book or anything else that makes you feel pampered.  You deserve to feel good!

Daily Wins:  Still talking with the personal trainer.  She needs a medical release form filled out.   So I have not had a physical for 3 years??   Currently don't even have a primary care doc.  Truth is because she wanted this form, I almost just gave up.  My negative voice was going full force...it isn't worth it.  I don't want to.  So today I was referred to a PC doc by my friend.  I made an appointment.  The sad part is that it isn't for about 3 weeks.  But I made the appointment.  That is a huge win for me.  I am rather disappointed that I couldn't get in sooner.   Oh well.
Got 13,000 steps today.  I was surprised.  I guess the 45 min on the treadmill helped.

Day 34 of 100---Cleaning is exercise part 2

Today I went through my routines again.  I do a lot better with a bit of freedom instead of a set schedule. I decided that instead of set things to do each day, I am going to assign a room to each day of the week. This would be a modified zone system.  :) For instance:
Monday:  Kitchen
Tuesday:  Bedroom
Wednesday:  Bathroom
Thursday:  Living Room
Friday:  Entry

Each day I will spend 15 minutes in the assigned section...I left it generic so I could pick which one needed it more.   I have been reading the book "The Joy of being Disorganized" by Pam Young.  She says to Figure out what the purpose is of each room and then you feel more inclined to work in it.   For instance the purpose of my bedroom is to rest and relax.  It is a respite from life.   So in order to make it that way I want it to be clutter free, have nice plants or flowers, light and bright with the feeling of peace.  I have a long way to get it there but now I can see the vision.  It makes me that more inclined to work in there.

Now to add this to my goal list....it sure is getting long!

Day 33 of 100--Are you stifling yourself with labels?

What are your labels?  What names do you call yourself that hold you back?   Failure, slow, slob, weak, tired, loser, fat, pathetic, all of these are labels that you may have called yourself before.  I know I have used a few of them before.   I'm going to be very blunt:  NEVER CALL YOURSELF THOSE WORDS AGAIN!   You are better than that and don't deserve to have name calling going on in your head.

Instead of negative words, lets look for positive labels.   Words that empower you and make you feel happy, strong and powerful.  Words like Athlete, Strong, Powerful, Positive, Purposeful, Joyful, Energetic, Successful.   What words would you choose?    Write down 3 words that you want to have incorporated in your mindset.  Post them where you will see them.   Put them in your phone with a reminder so every day your three power words pop up and you read them.

Any time you catch yourself saying negative things about yourself, say something positive.  Even if you don't believe it.  As you start incorporating positive thoughts and remembering your new words things will change, your mindset will change, you will feel empowered!   Nothing will stand in your way.

Day 32 of 100

Do you enjoy what you do?  In the daily grind has it become so routine that it is boring and no longer exciting?   I know I sometimes get caught in the drudgery of doing laundry, cleaning the dishes and going to bed...waking up.   Sometimes I just don't want to do anything.   The two words "have to"  begin to take hold and I begin to say things like "I should ".   Should is a word that causes guilt, makes us feel like we are not enough.   This word does not belong in our vocabulary.   I am working hard to not use it.  In fact I refrased a few sentences already trying to keep it out!   But I am rambling.   So the two words "have to"  Make the inner child inside cringe.   When you feel you have to do something rebelion most likely will occur.   I know I begin to procrastinate and push things off when I feel like I have to.   There is no Joy in the journey when we begin to tell ourselves these sorts of things.   Change your words from have to get to.  I get to do the laundry sounds so much better.   It incorporates gratitude and makes it so much easier!   I get to make my bed so tonight it welcomes me with clean sheets instead of the crumpled/tangled linens.   I get to make a yummy dinner for my family tonight so we can enjoy food and company with one another.  Do you feel the difference?

I am working to remember I get the priviledge of all these things.   I am very blessed.   Now I get to brush my teeth and snuggle with my hubby before going to sleep in my warm bed.   I am very blessed indeed.

Healthy Journey day 69

I am not using my template today as it is Sunday, Fast Sunday to be specific and so everything is a little off.
Fasting 2 meals left me not eating until 3:30, I had some jerky and an oatmeal cream pie.
We are heading to my parents for dinner and a super bowl party...Well I don't watch the super bowl, but it may or may not be on.   My parents got new carpet and a new TV so they are showing it off.  :)

I  really over ate tonight.  We had soup, buffalo chicken dip, some monkey bread, pink jello salad and a bunch of veggies...oh can't forget the cheesecake.  It was all tasty and I kept eating.  :)  I have not eaten that much in one sitting for a long time.

Came home and completed the dishes.

Got 2 servings of veggies. and only 40 oz of water.   But took my multivitamin.

I've been half doing the dishes lately...did load it and start it twice today, but stopped short of clearing the counters and sweeping the floor.   Probably letting excuses stop me...will work on that tomorrow...
