I've decided that one of my biggest steps in the wrong direction is procrastination. It isn't always purposeful, but it is there. Distraction must be a precursor to it as well. I'm sitting here still in my exercise clothes at 1:15 in the afternoon. No exercise yet. I did get some cleaning done this morning, started out on the right foot but then I slowly began to slow down. I have things to do. Now to do them!
So how can I get out of the distraction/procrastination mode?
Make a plan: My best days are when I plan out what I am going to do the night before. Either a list or writing it down in a planner. Either way it helps
Have a time limit. Decide when to have the item completed. I will exercise before I take the kids to school. Or I will load the dishwasher and start it before going to bed. Pairing items seems to really help in getting it done.
Find someone to help with accountability. I sometimes play Fly lady bingo games on facebook. It is nice to have a little company in getting tasks completed.
Put down the electronics. All too often I get sucked in. Turning on the computer later in the day, or turning on music, setting a timer on my phone makes a difference.
So in response to these thoughts...I am going to go exercise now. I will be done before 2 pm. Time limit!
Any other ideas on how to stay on task and not procrastinate? Please share below. I'd love to hear them!
